Pick one area of your life you are looking to improve and find at least one person you can connect with weekly who is MUCH BETTER than you at that area. Mentor & Coach with them for at least 3 months and let me know what happens to that area of your life!

I bought a book a while ago for $19.97, read it and received huge value from it.
The other day I was in the book store and saw that same book in the “Clearance Bin” for only $5.
It was weird because seeing this book on sale, I felt cheapened my experience that previously had been so valuable.
It made me realize that part of the way we value experiences in life is through the cost associated with a product or service.
When we get things for a “discount” or “on clearance” we tend to value it less.
What do you do in life or business that devalues yourself or your service?
How do you put yourself in the Clearance Bin?
Maybe it is not following through with what you say, not respecting your time or health. Maybe it is discounting your product or service for a potential client that says they “don’t have the money.” Possibly even doing things that you don’t believe in or not speaking how you truly feel in a situation.
Whatever it is, determine what you value the most and the value of what you have and consider what it would take to keep yourself selling at “full price.”
I deeply respect people who go after their dreams and defy odds to create success… no matter how big or small.
We have heard the sad news of Steve Jobs passing yesterday. When someone has such an impact on the way the world communicates and functions… I want to learn from that person.
Below is a message Steve spoke at a commencement ceremony back in 2005 which greatly impacted me… I am sharing it because we all get stuck in the fear of losing or failing…
“Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life,”
“Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure — these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.”
“Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”
This past week I was in Abilene TX for two events.
Thursday I led a stress management seminar at a hospital impacting over 2800 employees.
Friday I gave a personal development seminar for the employees of a health club.
I had an activity where we in teams, tied pantyhose around someone’s waist and put a cucumber in one of the legs of the pantyhose.
Without using their legs or arms, they had to swing the cucumber to hit a balloon across the room. Once there they had to switch the pantyhose to a teammate and they did the same.
The cucumber represents you and the balloon represents perfection.
This helped illustrate concepts from my book, Being Fulfilled, how perfection is a moving target and how much effort is necessary just to “hit” it.
Most of the time it is not even possible and even if you hit “it”… the next swing could miss completely.
What if you released “perfection” and began working towards the best you can do and TAKE ACTION.
